Where is the dance circle?
The
dance circle is just west of the Band Shell
on the Dead Road. If you enter the Park at 72nd Street, and head across
the Park, it is hard to miss. There is a smaller, more informal dance
circle in the winter. For more information, call this number: 212-777-3232

Does the dance circle cost anything?
No. This amazing event is completely free to the public. The non-profit
organization that runs it deserves support. Please visit their web site
to make a contribution.
When does the dance circle operate?
The official hours are 2 - 7, every Saturday and Sunday from April
until late October. Monday holidays are also included. Occasionally, it
is cancelled because of park events. Saturdays are usually less crowded.
The best time to watch is on Sunday around 5-6 pm. It is also the hardest
time to skate. For more information, call this number: 212-777-3232

Where
is the cone course?
The big cone course is next to "Tavern on the Green" which
is on the west side of the park by 67th street. If you look on the map,
it is labeled "slalom course." The little cone course is right by the
Band Shell. Click here for map
When are the cones set up?
In 1999, the city cracked down on the cone course, and now the
course is almost never set up. It is a shame, but luckily we have tons
of skate footage.
Where is the Band Shell?
The
bandshell is just south of the 72nd street crossover in the middle of
the park. It is hard to miss. Click here

Where and what is the Riverside Skate Park?
It is at 108th street in Riverside
Park on the west side right by the West Side Highway. It is a skate
park run by the NYC Parks Department and Andy Kessler. It costs $3/day,
and helmets and pads are required. If you are under 18, you need a parent
to sign a waiver for you to skate. There is a half-pipe, some launch ramps,
a few grinding rails and curbs. We've done some shows there, but it is
not a focus of the show.
